I hope you’ve all been keeping well, except for those of you I don’t like. If I was a Goth that would be most of you but as I’m not you can be pretty sure I don’t dislike you. Anyway, what have I been up too this weekend? Hmm, oh just maybe I went to see Franz Ferdinand!
I tootled on down to Wolverhampton to see them on Sunday night with my charming but oh so smelly housemates (you get used to it after a while). We saw them at the Civic hall a nice shaped building which in fact had straight sides rather than the suggested curvy sides by one member of our group.
Right that’s enough padding, let’s get down to business – if I were you (thankfully I’m not) I would get your lardy asses off the chair you’re sat on and go get yourselves some tickets to see Franz Ferdinand live. That’s easier said than done according to this link, if you are overly keen to see them then this link may provide more joy for you.
I was really impressed with Franz, it has to have been one of the best live gigs I’ve been too they were just ACE, like SUPER ACE! Did I mention they were ACE? They were you know.
Till Next Time. (Boom)

Avril Baby! |

We went to see Avril last night, this morning I got an ear transplant. The End.
That’s possibly a little harsh on the wee midget (she’s so very small, she even had boxes to stand on), on some of the song’s she managed to stay in tune! I’ve seen various Avril concerts on TV after I’d bought the tickets so when confronted with such shocking performances I convinced myself they were just off days. Sadly it’s true.
Nearly every time she spoke no one could understand a word the strange foreign lady on stage was saying. This didn’t seem to bother any of the pre-teens in the audience; by all accounts they enjoyed themselves!
I’ll stop being a moaning Englishman now, I enjoyed Avril, why wouldn’t I it was Avril! Woo.

My word! I just finished watching Stand By Me, which is a great film (you should all see it) and I can’t get over the shock of realising who the fat kid in it is. I’ve watched Stand By Me several times over the years and I never once saw that:
I’m not sure how I managed to go through life not knowing this! Those of you who don’t recognise Jerry O'Connell, might remember him from Jerry Maguire or Sliders (if you’re geeky enough).
I still can’t believe it, I’m just so shocked! Or am I just stupid?
Kristin Kreuk
Also I thought I’d mention this page that I made for the 1300+ people each month that come looking for it, now that its there some of you others might as well use it…

- The Hives (Last Saturday, Sheffield Octagon)
- Avril Lavigne (Sheffield Arena)
- Franz Ferdinand (Wolverhampton)
- The Zutons (Sheffield Leadmill)
- Gomez (Sheffield, Octagon)
- The Darkness (Manchester
Any complaints?
Edit: I missed the darkness off.

I sit here writing this feeling somewhat worse for wear after experiencing the start of my fourth freshers week; I feel so old, so why am I still here?
I’ve been questioning my (some say foolish) decision to stay and obtain my Masters, which means that rather than running away after three years, I get to stay for another extra wonderful year! A big part of me wants to go out into the big wide world and maybe even get a job *shocker*. More importantly I want to get married, settle down, have kids and a few kittens here and there. We compare this with the second part of me that wants to go out and party, this part of me is very happy to see my fourth freshers week! Currently this is the side that’s winning, and here’s why:
When I awoke this morning (after a very enjoyable night), I was pondering whether student life was really all that thoughts possibly induced by the violent battle erupting in my stomach as last nights Friary was being pummelled into submission. It was about this point I realised that I wasn’t sleeping in my own bed, remembering that a friend was asleep in mine I staggered upstairs to check the situation out.
My entry was only greeted with grunts from the direction of my friend, so being the internet geek I am I thought I’d check my emails while he dozed. As I moved towards my desk, I heard a series of squelches from the floor; it appeared to be all wet!
I awoke my friend (he wasn’t best pleased about this) to inquire about the puddle of water, the conversation went something like this:
ME: Oi, why’s the floor wet?
GAZ: What? I don’t know. (But with more grunting)
ME: Did you spill something?
GAZ: Don’t remember
At this point I remember that my friend had issues with finding his way to the little boys room when drunk.
ME: Did you piss on the floor?
HIM: Sorry, I could have.
ME: YOU PISSED ON THE FLOOR?
HIM: Sorry, it happens when I’m drunk!
ME: I’m standing in your piss!
HIM: It’ll dry
I know you may find it strange that this made me want to be a student but if I had a job, family and kittens such things just wouldn’t happen anymore! We don’t want that now do we!
With my mind resolved I’m looking forward to my last ever freshers week and most definitely looking forward to my last year at Sheffield University; I think I might miss it when I leave.
